October Meeting

The October meeting will be held at Water Smart Park, 1810 Louisiana, at 10:00a October 14th.

Our speaker will be Chariss York. This will be a Walking Tour and Chariss will talk about Gihrardi Family Water Smart Park. The Gihrardi Family WaterSmart Park is a picturesque outdoor classroom designed to teach the community about local plant life and water conservation.

Perched along Louisiana Street, a short distance south of FM 518, this lush three-acre park displays a beautiful canopy of Oak trees, which line the area and provide a shaded space for visitors. Chariss York monitors the park for storm water projects and will lead the presentation about the many conservation practices designed into the garden. Many of them can be applied to the home environment.
