LCGC December meeting - it's a party!

Our December 8th meeting will also be our holiday party. We'll meet at 10:00 at the League City Recreation Center, located behind the Johnny Arolfo Civic Center at 400 W. Walker St.

We invite all members to bring holiday foods, snacks, and desserts to share. The club will provide beverages.

We'll have a holiday gift exchange for all members who would like to participate. Bring a wrapped gift (limit of $15.00) to exchange.

This month, we'll take a break from our usual plant exchange at the horticulture table. Thank you to our horticulture chairperson, Judith Taub, who has done an outstanding job all year with the plant exchange. This monthly activity will resume in January.

As is our custom, we'll take our annual club photograph at this holiday meeting. Thank you to Mary Blackwell for doing this for us.

Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas to you all! See you December 8th!

League City Garden Club - November 2021 meeting

We look forward to seeing you all at our next monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 10, at 10:00 a.m., in the League City Recreation Center, located behind the Johnny Arolfo Civic Center at 400 W. Walker St.

The presentation this month is Rainwater Harvesting for a Sustainable Landscape, with guest speaker Nat Gruesen. The program goal is to raise public awareness of the benefits of rainwater and its collection.

Following the meeting on November 10, a special tree-planting memorial event will be held in honor of former LCGC members and honorary members who are no longer with us. Arbor Day Committee Chair, Gracie Washington, has organized this event, which will begin at 1:30 p.m.

The location is at the intersection of Baylor Creek Lane and White Valley Lane, right off South Shore Boulevard in the Hidden Lakes Subdivision. The family members of the honorees have been notified about the event and we will enjoy a special program with poetry readings.

We hope to see you on the 10th!
