League City Garden Club Announces 15th Annual Garden Walk, “Escape Into the Garden”

Peek at some of the most beautiful hidden gardens in League City as the League City Garden Club invites you to attend the club’s 15th Annual Garden Walk, “Escape Into the Garden,” Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10am to 4pm.

Tickets cost $20, maps included, and are available at Nana’s Attic, 501 E. Main St., at Founder’s Square, in Historic League City. Designed to be a self-guided tour, the Garden Walk features seven beautiful private gardens, delightful hidden gems, each unique to the personality and wit of its owners. Each garden has its own charm, with colorful blooming native plants, ingenious veggie and herb displays, glorious trees and blooming shrubs and perennials. Discover surprising treasures just beyond the garden gate, such as pergolas, fountains, fanciful colorful borders and pathways, eclectic and unusual containers, inviting relaxation areas, pools and decks, and color, color, color! A public feature for 2026 is Heritage Park, a beautiful League City park on several acres. Located at 1220 Coryell with parking on Landrum Avenue, the park can be visited at any time at leisure. It is free, beautiful, relaxing, and full of historical significance to League City.

Reminder about July meeting

Hello Members

Hope you all are enjoying all the summer blooms and beauty we are getting from the glorious rains! Our Wildflower acreage at both League City Parkway and Hometown Heroes Park are thriving at a new fabulous level!

We want to send a gentle reminder about our 11 am July 22nd Esteban's luncheon . Please contact member Betty Cowey ( betty48474@aol.com) for reservation and payment of $20. This will cover a drink and lunch of beef/chicken fajitas, and my favorite queso and red sauce this side of the border! This is a meet and mingle luncheon with a few quick announcements, introductions of our new scholarship recipients and discussion concerning the Garden Walk Tours in September! You won't want to miss this☆ we are still needing a Garden Walk Raffle chair or team raffle!!!

LCGC Meeting and Luncheon

May 13th Meeting & Covered Dish Luncheon

Luncheon Begins: 11:00 AM

Please plan to carpool: Meet at 144 Park Ave Parking Lot at 10:30 AM

Bring your favorite covered dish

Drinks will be provided

Seating should be sufficient, but you may want to bring a chair just in case

Awards will be announced at the meeting

LCGC Reminders

General Meeting next Wednesday the 11th at 10 A.M. at 144 Park Ave. Bldg.

District Convention next Thursday the 12th in Columbus, Texas. We will be leaving at 7:30 A.M. and have room for carpoolers. Contact me if you would like to attend and you may ride with me. We will be back around 5:00 P.M. (It's a 1-1/2 hour drive.)

Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting for our Club will be Wednesday the18th at 10:30 A.M. We will meet at the Bandstand and all are encouraged to WEAR GREEN!

Live Oak Tree Plantings in Honor of Manon Poole and Julie Engelman- Set for the 27th, at 10:30 A.M. Planting will be done next week by Jimmy Gibson and his Galveston County Park Crew at Walter Hall Park. The location will be close to the pond...head to the left when you pull in the park. I did pick up some nice Live Oak trees and will meet with the Park Department and have them planted before our gathering.

Sunflower Seed Planting Volunteers are needed to plant Sunflower Seeds on Wednesday, March 25th, at 9:00 A.M. We will meet in the parking lot on the left side of Hometown Heroes Park, near the trail to the dog park. The planting will likely take only about an hour, especially if many hands are helping. Please RSVP by texting Jamie Hart only if you can attend: 281-814-4805.

We will have sign up sheets at the meeting for the following: Cockrell Museum bus trip- Carol Hefner will be collecting for 4/1 field trip. Esteban Luncheon- Betty Cowey will be collecting for July 22nd luncheon. Plant Swap- Jamie Hart will need to know if you are attending and growing something for our sale April 4th.

We have so much to do in March! I know this is alot of information, but I felt if you have it written down, it will keep us all on board! I hope you can attend some or all of this! Thank you all again for keeping this Garden Club Fun and Strong!

LCGC General Meeting

Reminder: The correct date for our January meeting is January 14th at 10:00 a.m. We will begin brunch at 10:15 with an opening Prayer and Pledge, and the meeting will commence at 10:30. Location: 144 Park Ave in League City (located just off Main Street, across the street from League Park and the white gazebo)

There will be an amazing presentation by Soni Hollady on "Gardening for Butterflies in the Houston Area." Remember to bring your plants to share with the horticulture table. Please have them labeled and priced.
